Short version: Noisy Laptop plays sounds when your Mac does things. It doesn't watch you, listen to you, or phone home.
The Mac app
- No analytics, tracking, ads, or accounts.
- Noisy Laptop asks for no system permissions. It reacts to events macOS already announces: power, sleep and wake, screen lock, connected devices, network status, and app launches.
- To detect calls, it checks whether a camera or microphone is in use by another app. It never records, reads, or transmits audio or video.
- Your settings, event log, and license activation are stored locally on your Mac (in the app's preferences and your Keychain). The event log never leaves your Mac.
- When you activate, deactivate, or occasionally re-check a Pro license, the app sends your license key and your Mac's name (so you can tell your activations apart) to Lemon Squeezy's License API. Nothing else.
- Custom sounds you add stay on your Mac.
This website
- No analytics or tracking cookies.
- Sound previews are plain audio files served from this site. If you drop your own file into the demo, it plays in your browser and is never uploaded.
- Checkout is handled by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. They process your payment and email your license key. See the Lemon Squeezy privacy policy.
- The site is hosted on Netlify, which may keep standard server logs (like IP addresses) for security.
